Getting from Uruguay to Argentina by ferry is possibly the quickest and cheapest option you have for travelling between the two countries. Here is some helpful information for those wishing to do the same.
Having ticked Brazil off the countries visited list, it seemed wrong not to make the effort to explore Uruguay. The only problem was that time was against us. We had a maximum of 5 days before we needed to be in Buenos Aires, Argentina ready for our flight to Ushuaia.
After Paraguay, we decided to visit Uruguay. We were leaving from Encarnacion and heading straight for Paysandu 715 km away. What should have been a straight forward trip, turned out to be an incredible adventure of blisters, sunburn, aching muscles, and new friends. Hopefully, by sharing our experience we can ensure other travellers have much better luck than we did!
